The Eastern Shore of Maryland borders both the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean with hundreds of miles of shoreline here. Assateague Island National Seashore, near Berlin is a 37 mile barrier island with beautiful beaches. See wild ponies and birds. Camp on the ocean or bayside. Hike nature trails. Go surf fsihing, sea kayaking, hiking and biking.

Janes Island State Park, accessible by boat only, has miles of isolated shoreline and marsh. Camp. Canoe. Kayak. It is entirely surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay.

Elk Neck State Park and Forest, near the town of North East, has sandy beaches, marshlands and bluffs. Visit the historic tukey Point Lighthouse. See views of the Elk and Northeast Rivers as well as the Chesapeake Bay. Rent a boat or launch your own boat from a boat ramp.

The Town of St. Michaels is a Victorian waterfront village. Visit the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Take a sailing tour or a sunset cruise. Go boating, golfing, biking or hiking. Eat fresh oysters or other seafood.

C&D Canal Museum is located at 815 Bethel Rd. The museum exhibits the history of the canal that connects the Delaware and Chesapeak bays together.
